Can
i swim with my locks?
Turning away from a pile
of paper work Dr Edd Says.....
I was always terrified of swimming in pools with my locks
in the first years of having them, infact im still a little cautious of
it now however the reality of it is that aslong as your locks are fairly
well established it wont damage them at all - although your will be able
to smell chlorine on your locks for a couple of days afterwards (even if
you wash them!) so i like to give my dreads a good conditioning with the
coconut conditioning spray or loc buttah after going for a swim in order
to cover up the smell and repair whatever damage their maybe.
As far as swimming in the sea and lakes go then there is no problem at all!
You smell a bit like wet dog afterwards but swimming in the sea will even
help to tighten your dreadlocks. I would always reccomend having a wash
before bed in the evening though if you do submerge your locks!
